Welcome to the most exciting blog tab- THE SHAMELESS PUNDIT by your favourite Gweru Kid, Panashe Dave. Sunday 25 February was important in the world of football lovers as yet again they were treated with a nail biting final in the Wembley Stadium between Chelsea and Liverpool.
Chelsea were clearly the favourites and did turn up for the match against a young Liverpool side with faceless names on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. It was a battle for almost decided by VAR twice on each end but a score in the dying minutes by Liverpool ended the match and brought peace to four corners of mother earth.
All hopes were anchored on the Carabao cup by Chelsea are bouncing between the tenth and eleventh position with the grim reality of another season without European football sinking in. In matches played in the league, the most disappointing was Manchester United who find themselves in a losing spot for the first time this year.
City were brilliant in their campaign as well as Arsenal FC who continue to fire their blank artillery shells as they keep up the illusion of winning matches and not trophies at home or abroad (UEFA).
At home, the Champions cup commenced at Baobab Stadium on Saturday as Ngezi Platinum Stars hosted Dynamos.
The famous ‘6 million fans’ team were outclassed in a humiliating defeat by Ngezi Platinum accumulating their on and off field loses.
Off field, Dynamos were humiliated after failing to sign the matured superstars Khama Billiat who got snatched literally by YADAH FC and Kuda Mahachi who was snatched by Manica Diamonds. The Heart stadium, a newly constructed home ground for Yadah FC will be buzzing on Thursday as they unveil their most expensive player Khama Billiat.
